A Scottish company offers its proprietary RF (Radio Frequency) MEMS (Microelectromechanical systems) technology and design expertise for the development of applications in the communications market. Their novel technology enables the development of tunable RF solutions in markets such as mobile communications, space & defence etc. The company is interested in commercial with technical assistance agreements and joint ventures with original equipment manufacturers in the sectors mentioned.
Details: There are multiple communications systems including WiFi, 3G, WiMAX, LTE (Long Term Evolution), 4G, 5G and WiGIG. Wireless devices may use more than one of these systems and must be designed as such.
The Scottish company's innovative tunable RF solutions allow wireless devices to be configured accordingly to the relevant communication system. These solutions include RF MEMS, Tunable RF filters, power amplifier tuners and software. When wireless devices are equipped with tunable RF solutions, they are able to realise optimum performance on all channels (within the frequency band) and this results in superior RF performance; enhanced signal quality and low power consumption.
The solution would cover the main frequency bands ranging from 600 MHz up to 3 GHz (with some modules covering higher bandwidths). For space and military applications, X-band or higher up to 70GHz can be designed.
Tunable RF architecture is the way forward for future communication devices and various communication systems and frequency bands in place.
